Inscribed Angle

1. Definition

The measure of an inscribed angle is half the measure of the central angle that defines the same arc.

or

The inscribed angle is equal to half of the measure of its intercepted arc

1.1. Example

A circle is drawn with diameter \(AB\), of which has a length of \(70cm\). An inscribed angle is made labeled \(

  1. \(AB\) is a diameter, so it cuts down the middle of the circle, not to mention, it is the opposite side of \(C\).
  2. \(\frac{1}{2}\) of a circle is 180, so the arc is 180
    • We can say this because diameters cut circles into 2 semi-circles (\(180 \textdegree\))
  3. \(\frac{180}{2}\) is \(90\), due to the afformentioned definition of inscribed angles.
  4. The measure of angle \(C\) is \(90\textdegree\)
