These countries are in most or if not all of the UN bodies and commisions, permanantly involved in the matters of most UN decisions and actions.The United Nations does a multitude of purposes. After all, the main reason why the United Nations exists is to promote peace, foster friendly international relations, and raise the living standards of the peoples of the world.
The United Nations has a special session referred to as the "General Assembly". In the General Assembly, delegates from all 193 countries currently recognized by the United Nations gather and discus the issues of the world. Furthermore, the United Nations has other subsidiary organs to assist in accomplishing the purpose of the organization.
The United Nations fufills multiple roles. These couple of groups represent only a pitiful few of the roles worked by the United Nations.
The United Nations Peacekeeping is a force staffed by international military personnel to maintain peace in destablizied regions.
The UNDP
fufills the role to assist in the development
and recovery of a member nation through construction,
funding, and awareness.
The UNICEF
works to help prevent abuse, malnutrition, disease, and
other negative effects of poverty, war, drugs, and de-stability.
This organ of the United Nations works hand in hand with the World Food Programme.
UNICEF also helps in improving the rights of women and girls in developing countries.
